Mitchell also co-stars in Kenan and Kel, Nickelodeon's first spin-off series about two best friends who chase after the things most teenagers dream about, but few dare to pursue. He received the 1997 CableAce Award for Best Actor in a Comedic Series and the show received the 1997 CableAce Award for Best Kids Series and the Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Award for Favorite Show in 1998. Mitchell received the Kid's Choice Award for Favorite T.V. Actor in 1999.
Mitchell made his feature film debut in Good Burger as Ed, a character he created on his series All That. He recently made a cameo appearance in The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle starring Jason Alexander, Rene Russo and Robert DeNiro.
Mitchell also recorded the song and video Mystery Men for the Mystery Men soundtrack.
