Steven Bochco Forum

by Mary Thompson After years of unabashed admiration, and consistent fandom, I I am deeply disturbed by Bochco's latest venture "Over There". He lost his credibility when he sold out to FOX. After years of some of the most thoughtful programming ever to hit the small screen he has flushed it all for this "recruitment" series. I'm disgusted. Comment on this...

by Barbara Ricci "I think Steven Bochco is an inspiration to all new and up coming writers like myself; he has an edge in his writing ability, and knows just where to add those little twists and turns of scene and dialog. Steven Bochco, by far is one of the greatest writers that has ever lived in this century." Barbara Ricci Comment on this...

by Tina Lewis Really enjoyed Bochco's novel! He should write for HBO so he woulnd't have language restrictions! Would like to hear others' reactions about one thing in his novel. Sounded to me like the ultimate in-joke when Dennis convinces Bobby that his really good, "original" idea is a TV series about a cop who was blinded and remains a cop. Of course that's already been done in a '71-'72 season by Jim Franciscus in (as) "Longstreet." Sure, he was an insurance investigator, but, after someone, in an effort to stop a case from being solved, killed his wife and blinded him, he was determined to continue being an investigator, so he got a seeing-eye dog and a cool cane. Wonderful. Comment on this...
