Academy Award winner Timothy Hutton garnered not only the Oscar, but the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor as well as the Los Angeles Film Critics Award for his performance in Robert Redford's ORDINARY PEOPLE. He has gone on to star in numerous films including TAPS, DANIEL, FALCON & THE SNOWMAN, MADE IN HEAVEN, Q&A, CITY OF INDUSTRY, PLAYING GOD and BEAUTIFUL GIRLS (also scripted by screenwriter Scott Rosenberg.) Hutton received his second Golden Globe nomination for TAPS.

As a member of New York's Circle Repertory Company, Hutton originated the lead role in the Broadway production of Craig Lucas' Prelude to a Kiss. Starring opposite Henry Fonda, he appeared in the Los Angeles stage production of The Oldest Living Graduate that was later broadcast live on NBC. At Circle Repertory Company he also starred in Babylon Gardens with Mary Louise Parker, and directed Nicole Burdette's Busted for Naked Angels, a New York-based theatre company.

Hutton has also spent time behind the cameras. He not only starred in Richard Friedenberg's Mr. and Mrs. Loving for Showtime, but also served as the movie's producer. He has directed a number of music videos including Drive by The Cars, Not Enough Love by Don Henley and the Neil Young concert film, Freedom. He has also directed an episode of Steven Spielberg's Amazing Stories, entitled Grandpa's Ghost, from a story he wrote.

Most recently Hutton premiered his feature film directorial debut, DIGGING TO CHINA, to an ecstatic welcome at the 1998 Sundance Film Festival. This off beat coming-of-age story stars Kevin Bacon and Mary Stuart Masterson, and introduces 10-year-old Evan Rachel Wood.
