| by Harold I Passes MD In the early 60's I met her in Wash DC when she appeared in an acclaimed satirical revue with two others including David Frost, at the prestigious National Theater to sold out houses. Her presentation of Queen Elabeth II was hilarious. She had an uncle ,a superb neurosugeon Dr Sydney Green,in DC {aclose friend} also from Britain, and he kept me up to date on her remarkable career Comment on this... |

| by Ezrha Jean Black Eleanor Bron & am mad for anything else she's written (or read -- a practiced hand with Spark roles (e.g., Brodie), she apparently reads Spark for an audio collection of her stories). Recall of course that she's a writer from Cambridge - Establishment/Committee/TWTWTAS days -- satirist with a silken touch -- & actress whose ineffable talent make her a treasure in almost anything she plays. She slips, elides into her characters so smoothly & brilliantly that performance becomes almost too well inset into texture of film. It's professionally seamless rather than a star turn. For that reason, among others, I think, she hasn't had the star profile she so richly deserves. But her films would be at such a loss without her. When you think back on them (Bedazzled, & too many to list), you remember how perfect she was, the delight you took in her performance. She should be published widely -- & heard & SEEN far more often than she is. Comment on this... |
