Talisa Soto

Talisa Soto most recently starred opposite Benjamin Bratt in Pinero, the motion picture based on the true story of playwright Miguel Pinero, who won the Pulitzer Prize for his Broadway hit, Short Eyes. She was nominated for an ALMA Award for her performance.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Soto moved to Northampton, Massachusetts with her family when she was five years old. She returned to New York at 15, where she began her modeling career. She is perhaps best known as the first Latin model to grace the covers of American and British Vogue, French and British Elle, Glamour, Self, Town and Country, and countless other magazines.

Soto made an impressive transition from modeling to acting in her first film, Spike of Bensonhurst and went on to appear in a number of feature films including Don Juan de Marco, with Marlon Brando and Johnny Depp; the James Bond film License to Kill; The Mambo Kings, with Antonio Banderas; Sunchaser, with Woody Harrelson; and the popular Mortal Kombat movies.

Also active in television, Soto starred in the telefilms Silhouette and Prison Stories: Women on the Inside for HBO.
