what a horrible actor, he reminds me of william shatner pauses after evry single freaking line!!!!! his maneurisims make me wanna puke, love the show love the rest of the cast but get this guy outa there

Uh ................ we are all entitled to our opinions but what the heck are you watching if you love the entire cast except Vincent? He makes CI what it is; his interactions with the other cast, his mannerisms, etc. He is a true character actor, the show would not be the same without him. As a matter of fact, when he's not on it, I turn the channel. Nothing against Chris Noth but he's no Vincent, that's for sure.

I agree that his character is what makes the show. Chris Noth does a good job too, but I definately prefer Det. Goren... You have to consider that he's playing a character who has been raised by a schizophrenic mother, and this person would have to become well educated. A person who is spends a great deal of time around someone with that disease has to choose words carefully or the person with the illness may take their words the wrong way and suddenly feel this person is the enemy and can not be trusted. So, Goren would be in the habit of thinking carefully about how to approach a situation before actually getting into and then taking a breath every now and then to be sure he's coming to the desired result. His character also borders on slightly autistic in behavior.
I wondered for a while if he truly had those habit, but on reading some of the interviews and quotes from Mr. D'Onofrio I see very little of them. When you play a part well enough to make a person watching wonder how much of this is character and how much is real you're doing a great job playing the part. He plays his role very well. Very convincing.

I'd like to see your acting abilities. Have you ever watched any of his films like "Full Metal Jacket", "The Cell", "Guy" + more.
I personally think he is fantastic at what he does. He goes as far as he can to get into character by researching and striving for perfection.
Try out some of his other stuff. You may change your mind.
Vincent as Robert Goren is great to me.

Hey, if you would like to see more of him then watch the movie "Guy" which is only showing one more time this month on the Sundance Channel. He gets completely nude and there is a convincing sex scene that makes it worth watching at 3:00 am (I'm not sure what times it's playing, but last night it was at 3:45). This film is not available on VHS or DVD, so it is your only chance!

hallo, i am an 18 years old-german girl and my first time i saw vincent was in the cell with jennifer lopez and he was so talented with playing an psycho... then i saw him in law and order and i thought:" oh my god, he is actually hot". yes he is really hot, but i think it is not the most important thing, which makes him so sexy. i think he is sensual, sensibly and honesty and that make him so sexy. he is an intelligent, talented man who loves his work and of course his two children. and that makes him so hot in my eyes. god bless him.
