william h. macy is ugly and plays the same guy every role. you think thats talented. i think not. that guy who said his performance in fargo was the best performance ever (im talking to you joe shmo) then you must really watch movies that dont have william h. macy in them. you really think his performance in that movie could add up to dustin hoffman in rainman or peter o toole in lawrence of arabia. you make me laugh shmo. you are just saying he was great coz he got an oscar nod for it. the oscars are bull-shit and everyone knows it. why dont you worship an actor who actually as talent like gary oldman. his a real actor.

I also loved his acting in Fargo. I think he's a fantastic actor. Incidently, does that also make me a shmo or could it be that neither of us are shmos, and what about the other thousands that think he's great. It's really unfortunate that one has such disrespect for others opinions.

Loved him in Fargo, do you remember him in Homocide? Great stuff. Just charming in ColinFitz Lives! He is amazing. He makes every role he plays seem so real!

This guy is just intriguing. First saw him in Fargo and have been following his every cinematic move since. What a body of work as well. Simply outstanding. Deserves more recognition especially at award time

Having just been emotionally exhausted by watching his wrenching performance in "Panic" on DVD, this was my first stab at trying to find more information on William H. Macy. Imagine my utter astonishment to discover an actual forum devoted to this incredible actor!

WHM has mesmerized me since "Fargo." "The Cooler" blew me away as well. I can think of no other actor who can so vividly portray such a range of feeling and emotion (particularly angst!) with nothing more than subtle facial expressions and body language.

Count me among those afficianados who rank WHM in the very highest echelons of great, great actors.

"Would anyone know if William H Macy appeared in a Steppenwolf Theatre production of "Grapes of Wrath" @ The Royal National Theatre in London at the same time that Daniel Day-Lewis was 'giving' of his "Hamlet @ the same theatre(c.80's-apologies I cant be more precise!) Many Thanks,Ardah

William H. Macy is the greatest actor to ever live.
He conveys emotion in an amazing way and each character is unique.

Seabiscut: One of the few good things about this about this fim was WHM's preformance, spontanious and hillarious.

Door to Door: A brillant preformance. To bad it was only a TV movie, or an oscar would have been in sight.

Ghosts of Mississippi: again, the only great part of the film.

Focus: A beautiful film featuring WHM's second greatest preformance.

Thing's Change: A great comedic preformance. Not enough screen time.

FARGO: The greatest preformance by an actor ever. WH Macy stars as Jerry Lundagard , a car salesman who wants his wife kidnapped in the entricately woven black comedy by Joel Coen, the creator of The Big Lebowski, Miller's Crossing, Raising Arizona, and the recent Intolerable Cruelty. This movie is not only worth it for his incredible preformance, but because it is just a great film. A MUST SEE!

William H. Macy, Writer, Steven Schachter, Writer (Mon Sep 22, 2003 3:51pm ET)report post

William Macy is a great actor in all of his work, but what compelled William Macy and Steven Schachter to mock and be so ungracious as they received the Emmy for writing? Why would either of these very lucky men be so disrespectful to the other nominated writers.
