5' 8" . . . no way . . . (Thu Dec 28, 2006 3:57pm ET)report post

I like Emily's acting . . . especially in "Breaking the Waves" . . . and she really makes me druel, all sprawled out flat on her back, in her scene without a shred of clothing, with the doctor . . .

However, she is not five feet eight inches tall . . .
or even close . . .
Perhaps she was measued in her high-heels
for this particular occasion . . .
Her last year's more accurate documentaries
and recent medical records
list her more accurately at 5' 3". . .
five feet three inches tall.

The Luzhin Defence (Tue Apr 20, 2004 10:52am ET)report post
by Robert Jurjevic
I saw her for the first time in "Breaking the Waves" and later in "The Luzhin Defence" (2000) and "Gosforth Park". Recently, my wife bought me "The Luzhin Defence" DVD and I have watched it a dozen of times. Even "Breaking the Waves" impressed me so much that I could not get off the chair for a while after the film had finished, I prefer "The Luzhin Defence", maybe because I am an amateur chess player (a weaker one). I think that Turturo was the right match for her in that role and that his performance was brilliant. All other actors in "The Luzhin Defence" acted very good in my opinion: the little boy (Lushin), Natalia's mother and father, boy's father, the aunt and mother, Valentionov, young French fellow, etc. My wife enjoyed the film too. What my wife and I would like to do is to meet with Emily Watson and Turturo on a tea break somewhere in London. As an amateur photographer I would like to take a few photos if permitted at this conceivable occasion. Does anybody know a postal address where one can write to Emily Watson? Thanks.

big ups for Emi (Fri Feb 20, 2004 4:23pm ET)report post
by Miguel
big ups to Emi, she gave a great performance in the film Breaking the Waves. She should have an Oscar for that film where she played a kind-hearted and naive Scottish lad. Her performance was so touching and powerful that it made me weep like a schoolgirl. Anyways I also like her in the movie the Boxer, and Daniel Day-Lewis should have won an Oscar for his portrayal of an en-IRA member who tries to redeem himself by coming back to the ones he loves, boxing and Emily. In parting, I hope to see Emily in more movies and hopefully in some plays in the l.a. area. Peace, I'm out

Good Actress and Good Looking! (Tue Jan 20, 2004 1:10am ET)report post
by Ernesto Catalán
I've recently become more aware of Emily Watson, especially after "Red Dragon", where she gave an awesome performance as a blind woman. A few days ago I saw her in "Metroland" (for a moment I thought this movie was actually FILMED in the sixties or something!) and again, was impressed by her acting. She looks very down to earth, like a "next door girl" type of look (even though we don't have those kind of blonde beauties here in Mexico...at least there aren't many!)
I think she will become a huge actress. Keep it up Emily, Smile !!!
