| by surfur The guy who's best known for playing David Lynch's alter egos in films--as well as the moody Mulder-like FBI agent Dale Cooper who's palate for the "blackest of the black coffee"'s and cherry pie, that tortured face and piercing stare of his has made his carrer as solid as a rock. The renowned artist and often filmmaker David Lynch favored him because of his powerful stare, his gestures, his pained expression (as well as his strong, nearly uncanny facial resemblence to Mr. Lynch). He made his big-screen debut in the sci-fi disaster "Dune," based on the popular Frank Dunne novels. However, it was the curious boy-next-door role in "Blue Velvet" and the oddball "Twin Peaks" agent who was hot on the trail of Laura Palmer that he still remains best known for. Thankfully, something he isn't well known for is his brief role in the memorably bad and disasterous "Showgirls." And he's one of the few who whom the association with "Showgirls" did not horribly scar. He also made a two-year sint on the wildly sucessful and incredibly risque' "Sex in the City."
