| by wendy marianne for many years i have been so fascinated by the infamous ripper case, the whitechapel killings etc and have been one among millions since those dark times who has wondered who done the dirty on all those girls on the streets......more than that..i hadnt seen a movie that matched my own vision and imagining of what jack the ripper would be like..personally, physically,and everything else...from his appearance, eyes and vocal tones.......that is ...until lately...when the great sir ian holm...made that vision come true...in the film called from hell.....this has to be the best ever.....this is exactly how i always envisioned the ripper to be....the clothes...the coach and horses...the calculating walk...the ego-trip....and the bit where his blue eyes turn pitch black...giving him a demonic supernatural-like origin....i thought wow...this man is excellent in the role...i have been waiting for the right movie and the right actor, for so long....thank you sir ian...you are incredible...and you have truly brought the notorious legend to life...and if ripperologists dont get it as i do....then its their loss....for me, this is how jack should be done........and ian, you do it real well...one thing though....i wonder if jack really did have such a sensual voice in real life....cos thats the way ian goes for it in this role....i have seen a lot of films with ian in them....but this gothic masterpiece will be a big fave...for a long time to come.....oh, and regards to ian..may you keep those fine roles coming........
