Biography #2 (for Underdog)

Academy Award nominated actress Amy Adams (Voice of Polly Purebred) has built an impressive list of credits in a remarkably short period of time, challenging herself with each new role. In Phil Morrison's Junebug, Adams earned nominations for an Academy Award Ă‚and a SAG Award. She won an Independent Spirit Award, Broadcast Film Critics Association Award, National Society of Film Critics Award, a San Francisco Film Critics Society Award, as well as the Breakthrough Gotham Award. Adams also won the Special Jury Prize for Acting at the 2005 Sundance Film Festival for her role as the pregnant, childlike 'Ashley,' who is awe-struck by the arrival of her glamorous sister-in-law.

Adams recently starred with Will Ferrell in the comedy Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby and will next be seen in the Disney romantic fable Enchanted opposite Patrick Dempsey, James Marsden, Idina Menzel, and Susan Sarandon. Adams will also star opposite Meryl Streep and Philip Seymour Hoffman in the screen adaptation of Pulitzer Prize winning play Doubt for Miramax Films.

Adams' other film credits include Clare Kilner's The Wedding Date with Debra Messing and Dermot Mulroney, Steven Spielberg's Catch Me If You Can, Reginald Hudlin's Serving Sara, Anthony Abrams' Pumpkin, Drop Dead Gorgeous, and Psycho Beach Party. Adams has also guest-starred on several television series including The Office and The West Wing.

Amy Adams found her acting career in high gear after the release of Steven Spielberg's smash hit Catch Me If You Can, in which she played Leonardo DiCaprio's adoring, airheaded fiance, Brenda.

Other feature credits include Drop Dead Gorgeous, Psycho Beach Party, Cruel Intentions 2, The Slaughter Rule, Pumpkin and Serving Sara. Upcoming film roles include The Last Run, the ensemble comedy Standing Still and Junebug. Amy Adams will be seen in two upcoming films later this year: The Slaughter Rule and Psycho Beach Party. She appeared in last year's Drop Dead Gorgeous, opposite Denise Richards and Kirsten Dunst, as well as in such television shows as Providence, That 70s Show, Charmed and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Born in Colorado before eventually moving to Minnesota, Adams studied dance extensively before she became interested in acting. Prior to her role in Drop Dead Gorgeous, she appeared in various musical productions, including Brigadoon, Good News, State Fair and Crazy For You, at the prestigious Chanhassen Dinner Theater.
