The best book (Fri Apr 17, 2009 6:31am ET)report post
by Gino
I don't know which one is Dean's best story but I definitely know his worst: Fear Nothing. It's so slow...pointless descriptions and very little action. The main character should have been called Christopher...Slow! I don't know how Koontz could go on to write its sequel. I love DK's stories but I am not a blindfolded fan. Fear Nothing should have been binned, simple as that.

I really hope someone picks up on the cold fire screenplay because that movie would rock! Anyone have any news?

We went to school together (Wed Dec 31, 2003 1:38am ET)report post

Actually, Dean didn't exactly "win" the Atlantic Monthly competition, but he did get an honorable mention in fiction. I got an honorable mention for poetry at the same time. We were on the staff on The Reflector, SSC's literary magazine. I was poety editor, he was a staff writer.

Koontz sent me an autographed book! (Sun Jul 20, 2003 5:58pm ET)report post

I sent him a letter and in return he sent me an autographed book! I was so shocked, he's been my favorite author for years now, so it was really cool. I don't think he does this very often, so I guess my letter impressed him. Anyway I just got the book yesterday and I'm still all excited about it. He wrote a little letter too, he seems like a great guy.

I started reading Koontz books some years ago, and I have enjoyed every one of them.
I think his books specially the new ones are very complete, with a very good mix of action and his caracteres are very complex.
