| by Carol Trask I was fortunate enough to meet Theresa Russell in Fairfield, Maine while she was filming "Empire Falls" with Paul Newman. She came into my daighter's candle shop to purchase something from Maine. That night we watched "Black Widow" again and another one of her movies were on that same night and we enjoyed them both immensely. She is a very lovely person and we enjoyed talking to her so much and a very talented actress as well. I am looking forward to seeing more of her movies, and hope to see her again before she leaves Maine. Comment on this... | ||||

| by Jean Himebaugh Dear Theresa Russell, I'm not sure if you really read these guestbook entries or not, but by chance you do, I would like to submit an idea for a movie. I know this sounds corny or even naive - but I was watching HBO the other night and saw Rosanna's Documentary, "Searching for Debra Winger" and it inspired me to joint down this idea for a specific part for any middle-aged actress to play that would be interested. In a nutshell - it could be a comedy, but I prefer it to be a drama in order to strike a "heart-felt" emotion to the audience and convey a message about how woman they are seen by others and by themselves. I am sincerely interested in telling this idea to an actress or a director who would take this into consideration seriously. But if this forum doesn't get read by Theresa Russell - I feel really stupid and silly for even taking the time to write this entry. Please reply if this entry truly appeals to you, with honesty and sincerity. Comment on this... | ||||

| by Bill Roberts Russell is uncommonly beautiful and talented. She exudes both a sohisticated and at times a very earthy sexy aura. She shines brillianly along side Debra Winger in this twisted plot of a woman who is diabolical and murderous in planning the death of several rich husbands. Overall, Russell is a very under-rated actress who deserves far more than she has gotten! Comment on this... | ||||

| by quobist Roger Ebert is right when he says that Theresa Russell is the actress you call when the role calls for great skill combined with great courage. She is certainly exceptionally beautiful; but her beauty is enhanced by the aura of intelligence she projects. Even with lesser screenplays, or so-so direction, her performances are always top notch. It takes a very strong actor to play one-on-one with her. No matter what's going on on the scene, you are attracted to her character. For example, check her scenes with Robert De Niro, Jack Nicholson, and Robert Mitchum in her first major screen role in "The Last Tycoon." Or note her interactions with Gene Hackman in "Eureka," or Debra Winger in "Black Widow." I hope that she'll land some strong starring roles soon--she's too fine a talent to let go to waste. | by anonym Her performance in Impulse (1990) reminded me of Gloria Grahame -- for example: In a Lonely Place (1950). Both roles seem to have a similar appeal, although Impulse is a more hopeful movie with a true woman hero. Comment on this... |
