Dear Wayne Wang;
Please forgive me for intruding upon your life with this letter. My name is Katherine Yu. I am a Chinese born writer/poet currently residing in Los Angeles, California. I have been writing screenplays for television and film for the past 15 years in China. My resume includes a published novel, three feature screenplays published in book form by Hunan Publishing, a book of poetry, and writing credits for a television series in China. I graduated from Beijing Central Drama Institute before coming to the U.S. on full scholarship to study. Finishing up my M.A. in film and video production at American University in Washington D.C. in 2000. I relocated to the United States so that I could advance my English in order to write projects that have more international potential.

I have recently written a screenplay for feature film entitled Deep Feelings. It’s a love that holds a broad spectrum of marketing possibilities. Although the script was not specifically written for you, I consider you to be an excellent choice for the director.

Having studied the various projects you have done, I believe this project could bring a breath of fresh air to your resume.

Honestly, I believe the idea behind “Deep Feelings” can be developed into something very marketable and entertaining for both child and adult audiences. I have had enough positive input about the basic story premise, that I cannot let this project fail.

I am looking for a director with the in-depth experience that you have. It would be an honor to work with you to successfully further both our careers. I look forward to hearing from you.

Best wishes,

Katherine Yu

P. S. I don't know if you still remember me or not. I called you last August but you were very busy with your movie and you told me call you around Feburary 2004, so I did call the number at 310-4448563, but the number has been changed. Please tell me how I can contact you again. I do want to meet you soon.
