| by mario All these stupid racial distinctions (American liberal puritans and political correctness). In brazil we don’t make as much of a fuss about it. But from what I have seen, I think the races in brazil get along better than you guys do. But yeah, she is so much more. She is an incredible actress. She is brazillian ... we claim her as our own. | by Cloe I really think she is more than people give her credit for. She is an incredible actress, but she has also spoken out for so many - particularly children. A very strong and compassionate individual. Her beauty which comes from the inside as well as the outside - and amazing genes - is according to her - in an interview by Teresa Pinto ("Tropical") is a combination of black and indian. To some extent, one could say she is one of the first actress of african diaspora to make waves in latin cinema. I'm not sure if anyone recognizes this - especially since she is lumped with every other latina actress - which is unfortunate. She is definitely - more than the sum of her parts - and hopefully the U.S. will come to recognize her as such. Comment on this... |

| by kotsw Sonia Braga is stunningly beautiful, incredibly talented and, unfortunately, underutilized. American or Latino, there is NO actress alive who comes close to this woman when it comes to beauty AND talent. Comment on this... |

| by ed ehrlicher There is no actress like Sonia Braga. Her sexiest roles were mostly confined to her Latin American films, although her 1996 movis, "Tieta" shows a sexy Sonia who sparks and smiles her way in the movie. She has a dramatic effect on a role is given the right material, such as: Gabriela, Mrs. Flor and her Two Husbands, Tieta, etc. She sizzles and yet is a great actress. Watch her subdued roles in the Milagro Beanfield War, and Angel Eyes. Given the roles of some of her American contemporaries she would have won an academy award. She is wonderful, gracious, and sexy! Thank you, Sonia. Ed Ehrlicher Comment on this... |
