N'Bushe Wright

Beautiful N'Bushe Wright started out as a dancer, training at the prestigious Alvin Ailey Dance Center and the Martha Graham School of Dance. She eventually switched to acting, enrolling at the prestigious Stella Adler studio. Within a year, Wright was starring in Anthony Drazan's Zebrahead. That year, she won the recurring role of Claudia, a black civil rights activist fighting for equal opportunities in education in the acclaimed but short-lived NBC television drama I'll Fly Away. She received positive reviews for her moving portrayal of the drug-addicted older sister of the title protagonist in Boaz Yakin's Fresh. The following year, Wright played an idealistic Black Panther in the Hughes Brother's Dead Presidents.

N'bushe most recently enjoyed a role on UPN's Platinum. Which is a new series about the behind the scenes drama of the music industry. N'bushe plays the role of a beautiful, sensual and serious business woman who swims with the toughest sharks in the music industry, while negotiating record deals around her independent and profitable record label.

Most recently, she received a 2003 NAACP Image Award nomination for Outstanding Actress in a TV Movie/Miniseries or Dramatic Special for her performance in Widows. A native of New York City, she is the daughter of jazzman Suleiman-Marim and Akihr, a Board of Education psychologist. Wright attended the Manhattan High School for the Performing Arts. She just completed principal photography on MVP, opposite Wood Harris.
