So modest (Fri Nov 17, 2006 11:14am ET)report post

I absolutely adored her. Such a beautiful woman. It's almost impossible to find a photo of her on the web. I believe that is because she was incredibly humble.

We Will Miss You (Mon Mar 27, 2006 11:28am ET)report post
by Jerry Saddler
Lynne Thigpen was an outstanding actress; from her time with Disney to the District, she left an impression on me and my family, we will miss her. I always enjoyed watching her on TV, she was always well spoken. 54 years old, it is not fair, I still cannot believe she is gone, our time is short; we must enjoy every minute that we have. Thanks Lynne, you touched me and my family.

Jerry, Tena and Jacob

I found out last year. I saw the episode on Belgium tv and I was shocked. There was more to it then just a storyline in "the district" so I went to the computer and find out it really happened.
Even this year with the re-runs I'm still amazed.
Some persons leave you a really big empression. She did.

I've an old tape of "a mother's instinct". I'm gonna watch it tomorrow.

Our love to her and her family. (Sun Feb 8, 2004 11:11pm ET)report post

Smile I have to put a happy face because that is what she gave us..........

I have been reading all these beautiful letters about Lynne. As we looked at her bio we noticed we had seen several shows and sitcoms that she had been in but it was forgotten about. We are raising our 5yr. old grandson who watches Bear in the Big Blue House but it would have ment much more to know it was her as Luna. My husband and I only knew her as Ella. We loved her in that roll!! Her and Jack were so good together.

LYNNE AS LUNA (Mon Sep 22, 2003 10:34pm ET)report post

I too found out last night on the Emmy's about Lynne Thigpen's death and was shocked. She was the voice of Luna the moon on Disney's preschool show, "Bear in the Big Blue House." I too loved her and Craig T. Nelson's interaction on "The District" but since having a baby earlier this year, haven't been able to watch much TV. How very sad. She was a special lady.

I HAVE ALWAYS WATCHED "THE DISTRICT". I WATCHED BECAUSE OF LYNNE AND THE "CHEIF" . I LOVED THE WONDERFUL RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THEM. IT SEEMED SO SPECIAL. I LOST TOUCH AND HAVE NOT WATCHED IN A WHILE. I WATCHED LAST NIGHT SEPT. 13TH. I DID NOT KNOW SHE DIED IN REAL LIFE, BUT I CRIED JUST THE SAME. I THEN WENT ONTO MY COMPUTER AND LOOKED UP HER NAME AND FOUND OUT THE VERY SAD NEWS. SHE WAS A MAJOR PART OF "THE DISTRICT" . I WILL MISS HER SMILE AND WONDERFUL COMPASSION SHE SHOWED FOR EVERYONE. GOODBYE LYNNE,
FROM A LOVING FAN.

I was unaware of Ms. Thigpen's death until tonight while watching the Emmy's. I had watch The District until midseason. I loved her performances with Craig T. Nelson. I was unable to watch the program to the end of the season. What happened to her character on the series?

So, I guess I wasn't alone at finding out about Lynne's passing on tonight's Emmy Awards broadcast. It came as a total surprise to me. I'm sure she had family and many friends that miss her terribly..... my best regards to you all in your time of grief though it be somewhat belated.
