| by JAMES METCALF I WAS IN U OF WASHINGTON DRAMA SCHOOL WITH LOIS SMITH. AT THAT TIME IT WAS VERY OBVIOUS THAT THIS WOMAN WAS AN EXCEPTIONAL ACTOR. I HAVE FOLLOWED HER CAREER WITH ADMIRATION. WE WERE BOTH FROM KANSAS SO WE MADE A CONNECTION. MET HER ONLY ONCE SINCE 1950 IN SAN FRANCISCO WHEN SHE WAS TOURING TIME OUT FOR GINGER. AT THAT TIME ROBERT CULP WAS ALSO IN THE CLASS AND HE WAS EXCEPTIONAL BUT HAS NOT DRAMATICALLY GROWN AS MUCH AS LOIS. Comment on this... |

| by yolanda Reeves Yes, Lois Smith. The first time I saw her was in a screen test with James Dean for East of Eden. I thought the chemistry between the two was mesmerizing. I really do believe she would have been perfect as the leading female role for East of Eden. Her beauty is so timeless and natural just like her acting. What a Gem! Comment on this... |

| by val valdez I just saw her in "Minority Report" and I was mesmorized by her in the scene she did with Tom Cruise. I thought it was the best acted and directed scene in the entire film! She was capitvating and the part whre Smith kisses Cruise was wonderful. If you have a fan club for her, how do I join? Hope to hear from you soon. Best Regards, Val Valdez Comment on this... |

| by Linda Adam-Hall I've been a huge fan of Lois Smith since I saw her performance in "The Grapes of Wrath", a filmed play at the Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago, over 10 years ago. She has been in many films in her career, and you'll see her in soap operas and sitcoms as well. I have seen her in live theatre twice at Steppenwolf. She has an intense acting style that makes her amazing to watch. She is also very versatile. Plus, I've met her and we've written back & forth many times; she is a warm, friendly person.
