Robert Rodriguez Forum

| by Jack Hey. Dont know if any one reads this or anything, but i'd just like to say how awesome Robert Rodriguez is! I may only be 13, but even I understand how absolutely amazing he is! For instance, watch El Mariachi. Then watch...say Tomb Raider. I think almost every one will agree that El Mariachi is marginaly better. And guess what? Tomb Raider was made with about 10,000 times bigger a budget than El Mariachi! This goes to show that he's a wizard with money. Then , even with bigger budgets (Still pretty damn small) he made 2 of my favourite films. Planet Terror and Desperado. Watch em. If you already have, watch em again. Another thing about how cool Rodriguez is, is that nothing stands in his way. Dirctors Guild say he cant have 2 directors for Sin City, Rodriguez gets 3! (Well, Tranatino was only a guest director) Then the writers guild were angry about his KID writing a film! He quit. How damn cool is he! Basically what im getting to is, Robert Rodriguez...your my hero. You have inspired to make home made films, and probably hundreds more. Hopefully i'll bump into you some time (Even though I live in England) It would also be aaaamazing if you replied to this letter. My email is jiberwonga@hotmail.co.uk I understand if you cant, but it will be greatly appreciated. Hope your Shorts goes well, IJack know it will. Good luck! Comment on this... |

| by Mo The Mexican Cabdriver's Poem for His Wife, Who Has Left Him We were sitting in traffic on the Brooklyn Bridge, so I asked the poets in the backseat of my cab to write a poem for you. They asked if you are like the moon or the trees. I said no, she is like the bridge when there is so much traffic I have time to watch the boats on the river. By Martín Espada, from A Mayan Astronomer in Hell's Kitchen. I really liked the the Robert McKenna poems. Comment on this... | |||||||||

| by Robert Mckenna Old Enrique, with back and shoulders bowed. Truges past my house, bent beneath his load. Sticks of mesquite for his senora's morning fire. Now to old to work, and never more to hire. Fingers cracked and split, knurled ever with pain. Hardships so great, enough the soul to drain. Utter misery like a blackening falling sky, still there's a smile, and a twinkle in his eye. These two old folks rejoice, still together stay. Doesn't matter if, just beans n' tortillas today. Both under one blanket, close to keep them warm. Chills creep in as the blankets ripped and torn. And then they dream together, minds working now as one. Remembering the days they rode under a blazing sun. Campensinos from everywhere went out to fight in mass. Better to die right here today then let injustice pass. Days upon days they suffered, no water, food to spare. Still the enemy came crushing like magic from everywhere. The end they knew was coming, they felt it very near. (To be continued if anyone cares) Robert Mckenna Comment on this... |

| by Robert McKenna I look at mountains low and high, and nature's beauty greets my eye. Covered with cactus I can't name. So far away they look the same. There's nothing there that we can share, except a hawk shooting throught the air. A rabbit runs with speed and bounds, disappears and leaves no sounds. A lizard scurries over hot hot sand, leaps but never seems to land. The hawk is closer scanning twice. Looking to eat something nice. Goats are munching on invisible things. The sun is surrounded with brilliant rings. You hear the whisper of a quiet rattle, the creak of a shying horses saddle. Throats are dry, that's mice and men. Without water is the ultimate sin. So rest beneath some little shade, without grass, not a blade. Wait for the evening breeze to blow. Round up your ponies and cattle. Head for home so stiff in the saddle. Tomorrow, again, up before dawn. Poor as dirt with nothing to pawn. Bean burritos, no water to spare. Another day to see how you fare. Comment on this... |

| by MO Actually would marry him if his wife kicked him out which she might after sitting through all the bare-bottomed female sm-ey scenes in Sin City, which sure made me uncomfortable in a theatre with a bunch of silent lone men. Dear oh dear. Will you you just get the actual female perspective in the next one, please. Loooooove the man's 10-minute flick-school and so on and so forth. Now wait till he proposes... | by UCLA-LATINA I love your work and just ask you one thing, don't ever hire Jessica Alba for one of your movies ever again, shes a discraze to LATINOS! tries to hide her identity and think shes caucasion, yet shes darker than alot of FULL Latinas. Their are so many Latinas out there waiting to make it to the big screen one day and talented too so look at those. Jessica alba won't bring you as much money because Latinos we don't consider her our own and I wouldn't pay to see one of her movies, the people I know won't either lol keep doing good movies and representing us!
