Van Patten originated roles in four Neil Simon hits, Jakes Women, Brighton Beach Memoirs, I Ought To Be In Pictures and Same Time Next Year. Her other stage appearances include The Seagull, The Cast and Spoon River Anthology.
Van Patten's versatility as an actress is also evidenced by her impressive credits in film and television. In television she most recently co-starred in Breathing Lessons and guest-starred in All My Children, Northern Exposure and Brooklyn Bridge.
