| by Elvin Duggan My first viewing of Jami was in the exceptionally well-produced THE BOYFRIEND SCHOOL. I was extremely impressed with her timing in countless scenes, and I thought her interaction with the other players was pure dynamite! She was, in my own opinion, perfectly cast for that picture. Her genius becomes increasingly palpable during the series of events that lead to her transitional epiphany about Gutenberg. AFTER she discovers who he really is, she skillfully makes a seemingly unbelievable situation believable in a shrinking galaxy of dynamics that almost makes her pulling that off seem impossible. All this and her face-that-launched-a-thousand-ships beauty makes this movie worth watching over and over again! In a word, she was SENSATIONAL! That that movie was her magnum opus might perhaps be debated, but in my constitutionally protected opinion, I'd say that THE BOYFRIEND SCHOOL was her finest piece of acting. Pity there aren't any more movies that can even come close to it. But this is MY subjectivity speaking! Long live Jami Gertz for her ingenious portrayal of Emily Pear! Anyone connected with that brilliant movie is free to reply to me at edugganpub@cs.com. Comment on this... |

| by Bill Rodd HOT! You left out the movie, Dune Babies, I think that's the title. They rollerblade around all day in the desert. The kids are all in some sort of school/prison...and I really don't remember anything else. I only watched it becuase Jami was in it. Comment on this... |
