Imelda Staunton

Imelda Staunton is an award-winning stage actress who is also known for her work onscreen, including the role of the Nurse in the Oscar-winning Shakespeare in Love. She counts among her other film credits Kenneth Branagh's Peter's Friends and Much Ado About Nothing, Ang Lee's Sense and Sensibility, Trevor Nunn's Twelfth Night, Comrades, Citizen X and Remember Me.

She has won Olivier Awards for her performances in Into the Woods, The Corn Is Green and A Chorus of Disapproval, and earned nominations for her work in Uncle Vanya and The Wizard of Oz. Her extensive theatre credits also include The Beggar's Opera, Guys and Dolls, Fair Maid of the West, They Shoot Horses, Don't They?, The Lady and the Clarinet, Habeas Corpus, Waiting for Godot, Grease, The Gingerbread Man, Travesties, Elektra, As You Like It, Saint Joan, A Little Night Music, Mack and Mabel and She Stoops to Conquer.

On television, she has appeared in such programs as David Copperfield, Tales From the Crypt, Is It Legal, Easy Money, The Singing Detective, Ladies in Charge, The Heat of the Day, They Never Slept, Up the Garden Path, A Masculine Ending, Don't Leave Me This Way, If You See God, Tell Him and Revenge.
