Fiona Shaw has been acclaimed as one of our finest classical actresses, but has also won applause for her film forays. She has an eclectic array of film credits, gathering plaudits for her role as a pretentious Anglophile in The Butcher Boy and stealing the show as the headmistress in Three Men and a Little Lady.

Still, first and foremost, she is a stage performer. Shaw has won three Laurence Olivier Awards for best actress, two London Critics Awards, and one New York Critics Award for her performance in T.S. Eliot's The Waste Land. In 2003, she starred in the New York production of Medea, for which she was nominated for a Tony Award.

She studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts and has extensive experience with the Royal National Theatre, as well as credits for films as diverse as My Left Foot and Super Mario Bros. She was awarded an Officier des Arts et Lettres in France in 2000 and an honorary CBE in the 2001 New Years Honours.

Shaw will next star in Fracture, opposite Anthony Hopkins and Ryan Gosling, and in the independent feature film The Other Side. Next summer, Shaw will reprise her role as Aunt Pentunia Dursley in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
