Elizabeth McGovern

After Elizabeth McGovern made her film debut as Timothy Hutton's troubled girlfriend in Ordinary People, she starred in two of the 80s greatest epic films. She portrayed Deborah, the haunting young woman who bewitches Robert De Niro in Sergio Leone's valedictory masterpiece Once Upon a Time in America, and Evelyn Nesbit in Milos Forman's Ragtime, for which she received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress.

Other films in McGovern's career include Richard Benjamin's Racing With The Moon, with Sean Penn and Nicolas Cage; Marshall Brickman's Freudian comedy Love Sick, which co-starred Dudley Moore; Native Son opposite Victor Love, Matt Dillon and Geraldine Page; Volker Schlondorff's The Handmaid's Tale with Natasha Richardson, Robert Duvall and Faye Dunaway; John Hughes, She's Having a Baby opposite Kevin Bacon and Alec Baldwin; Steven Soderbergh's King of The Hill and Ian Softley's acclaimed Henry James adaptation of The Wings of the Dove.
