Biography #2 (for Spin City)
Connie Britton's popularity with television audiences began with a love/hate relationship as Paige's too-perfect sister, Heather, on the series, Ellen. She also received accolades for her starring roles in the Ed Burns' films, The Brothers McMullen and No Looking Back. Born in Massachusetts, Britton moved to Virginia at the age of seven with her family, including her fraternal twin sister. She attended Dartmouth College, where she majored in Asian studies and spent a term in Beijing, China. Upon graduation, she moved to New York, where she spent two years at the Neighborhood Playhouse studying with Sanford Meisner and an additional two years performing in regional theater and off-Broadway productions. After the success of The Brothers McMullen, she moved to Los Angeles. Britton has aided in the success of the volunteer fund-raising organization, The Big Bam!, by serving as its national spokesperson. The foundation's main goal is to promote breast cancer awareness and to raise money for other charities that aid the growing number of young women developing breast cancer.
