Jeremy Northam

Jeremy Northam has emerged as one of Britain's finest actors. Northam most recently starred as Dean Martin in the CBS biopic, Martin & Lewis opposite Sean Hayes' Jerry Lewis on Sunday, November 24th.

Jeremy recently starred as Ivor Novello in Robert Altman's critically acclaimed ensemble, Gosford Park, with Kristin Scott Thomas, Emily Watson, Maggie Smith, Clive Owen, Ryan Phillipe and Helen Mirren. Northam and the cast of Gosford Park won the 2002 Screen Actors Guild Award for "Outstanding Performance by the Cast of a Theatrical Motion Picture."

Additionally, Northam starred in Neil LaBute's Possession opposite Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Ehle and Aaron Eckhart and Michael Apted's romantic thriller, Enigma opposite Dougray Scott, Kate Winslet and Saffron Burrows.

His other recent film credits include: Merchant Ivory's The Golden Bowl, Oliver Parker's An Ideal Husband, Mark Illsley's Happy Texas, The Misadventures of Margaret, David Mamet's highly acclaimed The Winslow Boy, Irwin Winkler's The Net, Douglas McGrath's sleeper hit Emma, Mimic and Steven Spielberg's Amistad.

Earlier credits include Voices from a Locked Room, Wuthering Heights, and Carrington opposite Emma Thompson.

Northam's performance in The Winslow Boy earned him the 1999 Pathe British Performance Award at the Edinburgh International Film Festival and he was nominated for the Best Actor Elle Award. He was also nominated for 1999 British Actor of the Year Award which recognized his collective work for the season. Furthermore, Northam was a recipient of the prestigious Olivier Award - the British equivalent of the Tony - for outstanding newcomer, for his 1990 performance as Edward Voysey, the moral pivot of the Royal National Theatre revival of the 1905 play, The Voysey Inheritance.

On stage, Northam received wide recognition for his title-role performance in Hamlet at the Olivier Theater. He starred in the Royal National Theater's production of The School for Scandal and in William Wycherley's Country Wife at the Royal Shakespeare Company, where he also appeared in Love's Labour's Lost and The Gift of the Gorgon, and in Three Sisters and The Way of the World in the West End. Northam most recently appeared at the West End's Almeida in the acclaimed Certain Young Men.
