Discrepancy? (Sun Jan 4, 2009 5:44am ET)report post

"For his own Glasgow-based Rain Dog Theatre Company, Carlyle has directed Wasted, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest..."

Now correct me if I'm wrong, but considering the fact One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest came out when Carlyle was around 14 (1975), I don't think he directed it.

According to IMDB, he hasn't directed any movies..

I can't beileve it, I was in the middle of the most formidable write up and the power cut on me.

Let us begin again.

I missed the first showing of this series on BBC2. They put it on at some godawful hour and I snoozed. I remember seeing the Mary Queen of Scots episode and I fell in love with the series - despite the naff sex scene. So when I went into my local library and paid for my DVD of Monsieur Carlyle I did so in a nonchalant kind of manner- you know I had the flu and I needed a nice English cup of tea to keep me warm. Well, I was indeed warmed!
What a movie. Carlyle just blows everyone off the face of the planet. He always runs a fever and you feel as if he is in the room with you ( I was constantly looking over my shoulder). Having read a little of his personal life in imdb I now realise why he chose, or was chosen for the part of James I. Historically accurate- even the unpalatable- yes my mouth dropped open several times, I still could not beleive that this actually happened. The rest of the cast followed suit, particularly his wife who beautifully grew to love him, and Cecil - what a part, especially when Guy Faulkes is being punished is perfection (played by a former member of the Black Adder team). This stood repeated viewing. The settings are astounding with the light considering all shapes and form. The clothes of course should have their own show. Every line was a winner as if the writers were eager to please. It stands repeated viewing. This is the I claudius of the 21st century and should be shown in every school throughout the land.

i have to say his dark features make him very handsome and that accent is quite nice. But he is a superb actor especially in GO NOW where he has MS. You truely think he has it by the wonderful job he does acting. He is truley one a the finest new actors to come from the Uk and I hope to see more of him.
