Depardieu's career boasts more than 100 films since 1965. Some of his best known films include Green Card, for which he won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Comedy, and Cyrano de Bergerac, the film that brought Depardieu international stardom in 1990. Depardieu also starred in Ridley Scott's 1492: Conquest of Paradise, Kenneth Branagh's Hamlet, Randall Wallace's Man in the Iron Mask, Asterix and Obelix Take on Caesar, Sous le Soleil de Satan (Under the Sun of Satan), Camille Claudel, Trop Belle Pour Toi (Too Beautiful for You), Tous Les Matins du Monde (All the Mornings of the World), Germinal, and My Father the Hero.
Depardieu is also an accomplished stage actor, having starred most recently in last year's production of Les Portes du Ciel at the Theatre de Paris. His most recent television credits include Les Misérables, Bérénice, Balzac, and Monte Cristo.
