Georgina Cates
Georgina Cates moved from Essex to London at the age of 16 to commence her acting career, and has worked steadily in television, film and theatre since. She trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama from 1990 to 1993 while simultaneously pursuing television and theatre roles.
Prior to her appearance in Frankie Starlight, Cates played the lead role of Stella in Mike Newell's An Awfully Big Adventure, costarring Hugh Grant and Alan Rickman. Cates, whose real name is Clare Woodgate, won the part by transforming herself into the then unknown Cates, after her initial attempt to audition failed.
Cates' theatre work includes Mr. Director for the Orange Tree Theatre and Baby Love for Bill Kenwright Productions. Cates' other film credits include The Debutante, Playground Roundabouts and Behind the Gates.
