| by Joe As you lot seem so obsessed with the war, let's talk about America and wars shall we? Because you weren't that keen on the two biggest ever to hit our planet were you until you were forced to join long after either had started! And now anyone who watches a 2nd world war film gets the idea that it was USA against the evil empire and USA that won! It was the little British, my cross Atlantic chums, that were THE only nation that stood up to the enemy from the start, the little British who had their homeland bombed to buggary, and the little British who invited you bigmouths in to steal away all the glory, as you are very apt to do. Your own crazy misjudged and unjust wars you are prone to starting yourselves on far smaller nations are usually less successful affairs, aren't they, on historical evidence? So I wouldn't be so keen if I was an American, to talk so proudly of such serious things as wars! First, it really isn't very dignified, because many real people die in them, secondly, over here, your reputation in them isn't so great. THE LAST TIME I CHECKED WE WERE LIVING IN AMERICA THE LAND OF THE FREE. I THINK IT IS TERRIBLE TO THREATEN A PERSONS LIVLEYHOOD FOR THEIR POLITICAL OPINIONS. CLELEBRITIES ASRE NOT A THREAT TO OUR DEMOCRACY BUT THOSE WHO TRY TO INTIMIDATE ARE THE BIGGER THREAT. I DO NOT CARE WHICH SIDE OF THIS FENCE YOU ARE ON THERE IS ROOM FOR ALL VOICES TO BE HEARD IN AMERICA OTHERWISE WE WOULD BE LIVING IN IRAQ. NO ONE IN AMERICA SHOULD FEAR GOING TO WORK OR EVEN WALKING DOWN THE STREET BECAUSE OF THEIR POLITICAL VIEWS. AND WE MUST REMEMBER THAT OUR HOLLYWOOD CELEBRITIES DO CONTRIBUTE TO OUR COUNTRY. THEY ARE CITIZENS AND PAY TAXES THE SAME AS YOU AND I. ACTING IS THEIR JOB JUST AS ANY JOB ANY ONE OF US HAVE. WE ARE ALL ENTITLED TO MAKE A LIVING. PLUS, WHEN YOU BOYCOTT A FILM OR A TELEVISION PROGRAM BECAUSE OF A PARTICULAR STAR YOU DO NOT LIKE YOU ARE TAKING AWAY FROM THE LIVILIHOOD OF MANY INNOCENT PEOPLE. WOULD ANY OF US LIKE OUR EMPLOYEER, AND WE ARE A STARS EMPLOYEERS, TO FIRE US OR SHUT US OUT OF A PROMOTION BECAUSE WE HOLD A POLITICAL VIEW OPPOSITE OF THEIRS? NO WE MOST CERTAINLY WOULD NOT. AND WE COULD SAY THAT WOULD NEVER HAPPEN TO US BUT IT COULD IF POLITICAL WINDS WERE TO CHANGE AND WHAT IS ONCE POPULAR BECOMES UNPOPULAR. SO THINK BEFORE MAKING SWEEPING STATEMENTS ABOUT ANY STAR AND THINK OF ALL THE INNOCENT PEOPLE YOU WOULD BE PUTTING AT RISK BY YOU ACTIONS. AND STARS ALSO ARE WANTED WHEN WE HAVE A PARTICULAR CAUSE OF CHARITY WE WANT PROMOTED. I WOULD GUESS 99% OF THE STARS DEVOTE A LOT OF TIME MONEY AND THEIR NAMES TO CHARITIES.
