His real height was closer to 5'8", he was measured as being that height at Shattuck Military Academy and he was known to wear lifts in most films.

He inspired millions. He lost his son. But, still he was a good man and I hope he is happy whereever he is. Marlon Brando: 1924-2004

I am still in my late 20's but I was a great fan of Marlon Brando. I cried a lot when I heard of his demise. The world has truly lost a great person, and the most talented actor there ever was.

And Magenta, may you allow me to say this, Mr Brando surely had the talent, but one can't say that he wasn't handsome as well!

And so another great actor dies.
I'm rather suprised that, in the forum dedicated to the late Marlon Brando Jr., one of the best actors of his time, that there are only three other posts. I guess these days a pretty face counts for more than real talent does...

Ain't it sad that I just read his biography yesterday on filmbug, only to find out early this morning that he died yesterday? He was the best. R.I.P.

I commend you for stating Brando's true name as: Marlon Brando, Jr.

I don't think we have actors like him anymore. I'm a baby boomer but drawn to the older real glamour stars of the 40's. However, Brando did not allow producers to mold him like putty--he is a true rebel, I think, from what I have read about him. I also think he is pure instinctive genius when it comes to acting. I noticed you misspelled his most encouraging and supporting director, Elia Kazan, but then, who's perfect?
