Alexander Siddig Biography (2)
Siddig was born in Sudan, North Africa, and raised in England since he was four years old. He studied geography and anthropology briefly at University College in London before attending the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts.
He helped set up a fringe theatre group and spent two years performing with it before securing a role in a six-part television drama, Big Battalions. This was followed by the movie A Dangerous Man, which led to an offer to move to Los Angeles in 1992 for Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. He spent seven seasons shooting 26 episodes a year of the cult favorite.
As he says, he is in the unusual position of having been constantly working as an actor for the past 10 years—yet he has only had four jobs (five including Vertical Limit).
Siddig lives in Los Angeles with his wife, actress Nana Visitor (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine), and their two children.
