Aimee Mann

Aimee Mann is considered to be one of the finest songwriters of her generation, with a knack for simple, beautiful, instantly engaging songs that combine sonic buoyancy with stark emotional truth. During the 80's, Mann was an MTV It girl with her band Til Tuesday claiming MTV's New Artist of the Year award in 1985 as well as two gold albums, one top-10 single and numerous top-40 hits. Continuing to develop her craft as a songwriter, Aimee collaborated with such seminal artists as Elvis Costello, Jules Shear and Glenn Tilbrook of Squeeze.

In the 90's she released two critically lauded LPs: Whatever and I'm With Stupid. In 1995, she had yet another hit with the infectious single That's Just What You Are. Rolling Stone named her one of our premiere songwriters. Time went one step further by saying Aimee has "the same skill that great tunesmiths like McCartney and Neil Young have; the knack for writing simple, beautiful, instantly engaging songs."

Since 1985, Mann was caught up in record label wars. Undaunted by the machine she persevered in writing and producing recordings of the utmost quality. Her songs have appeared on numerous soundtracks and she got a taste of acting with a cameo in the Coen Brothers' film The Big Lebowski. Most recently, Aimee released a seven-song EP, Bachelor Number 2 and was offered a much-coveted slot on the Lilith Fair tour.

This fall, Mann will release her highly anticipated third album on her own label, Superego Records.
