| by Harvey Then why are you writing here, fool? Just remember, most members of the Klan were Democrats --- Harry S. Truman was a member in his youth. Elia Kazan was one of the greatest directors ever to walk the face of the Earth, his Honorary Oscar for Lifetime Achievement was thoroughly deserved and I hope Nick Nolte (alcoholic, drug addict), Richard Dreyfuss (alcholic, drug addict) and Ed Harris (who???) never recive any further awards. But then, they won't because they destroyed their careers through their stupid and pathetic behavior. Comment on this... |

| by Mark Some members of the HUAC were supporters of the Klu Klux Klan and they felt that the Klan were good, loyal Americans, so Kazan's agreeing with HUAC and his decision that it was good to give them names was not correct. Supporters of the Klan were just as anti-American as anyone who supported the Communist party. Unfortunately, I cannot give any comments about any of the movies or plays which Kazan directed because I have never seen any. Comment on this... |
