Newcomer Alison Folland plays Lydia, a rather awkward teenager who idolizes Suzanne. Born in Boston, Folland was brought up in the suburb of Wellesley where she lives with her parents and older sister. She attended public school until earlier this year when she transferred to a private school in New Cambridge, Massachusetts, where she is currently in ninth grade. It was there that the drama teacher suggested that she attend the open auditions for To Die For. Two weeks later she found herself in Toronto preparing for her role in the movie.
Other than taking part in school productions, Folland has had little previous acting experience. She will await the outcome of To Die For before deciding whether to continue her acting career or to enroll in art school.
