lauryn hill is not racist there was no tape recorded on that stupid statement. For those who think lauryn was born poor, she comes from a middle class family background, she grew up in a white surbub, and she went to a predominantly white jewish schools and she is childhood friends with zach braff from scrubs. I think people need to do proper research before they put any comments on this blog.

I am not really getting annoyed by people who are still hung up on those stupid racists’ rumours about Lauryn Hill. For starters Lauryn Hill is talented, beautiful, street-smart, and intelligent, socially conscious, politically informed, grew up in a white middle class stable family background, went to predominantly white schools, went to Colombia University, and sold more than 18 million copies without selling her body or soul. Was America ready for a black woman of her calibre? I would say no she was just too perfect for some white people because they are used to these uneducated rappers that are a disgrace to the black communities.

I believe these rumours were meant to tarnish her image, and it was later uncovered that these malicious rumours were false. Howard Stern did not even have the decency to apologise to Lauryn Hill since this information was coming from his show. Lauryn was even interviewed on MTV about these stupid rumours. Judging from her background and the kind of music she puts out, it does not even take an intelligent person to see that this woman is not racist.

That about covers what I was going to say. She lost her mind but I hold on tight everyday to my own sanity. I guess if my bubble were crushed instead of gently popped I would have gone mad too. If any of you believe a word Jesus said just pray for her. Don't shake you head at the child just pray for her.

The only person that is racist is you. Come to terms with your motives for accusing Lauryn and then come again.Lauryn can't be racist. No black person can be racist cause racism is about power and in this country the obvious is the the majority have that. So quit being stupid, with your no talent self and apologise for falsely accusing someone you envy. God knows what your motives are and you'll answer to Him.

heres the link to the song I mentioned in my first post "Vocab" ... Lauryn (spelt correctly .. not that I really care but ...) has the verse verse, you will note however, that I took out and presented just the lines that where references to 5%... if you read all of the lyrics, you may notice that also some of the lines I credited to Lauryn, are actually from Prazwell's verse aswell (2nd verse) and also from Wyclef ... so i'll break it down here ... I thought I should clear that up ...

Lauryn:

The devil's wishin they could send me back to Mogadishu
pray tell me when's the revolution will begin?
I turn on my TV I check out Farrakhan on CNN see

Prazwell:

I'm forming the cipher fly East to the Five Percenter
Knowledge is born, to all beginners (reference to droppin science to the 85s)

Wyclef:

I loved P.E., they kept me concious of what I was saying
Afrika Bambaata, Poor Righteous Teacher
Got within myself so it made me a Five Percenter

heres a link to a lyrics page:

In adding to my last past...

The Nation of Islam share the same ideologies as the Five Percent Nation (as 5% is an offshoot), although I havent found in written or published material that supports that the Five Percenters share the same sentiment in the following.. but the Nation of Islam preach that they (the black race) will rise up and kill the white devils in retribution for their evilness...

Also the references to NOI and 5% ideology is often subtle and unless you are aware of their meaning, you would be forgiven for missing them... as I have done in this past... and probably will continue to do so, until i learn more about these crazy cults.

Here is another artist you should question...

Ice T - this lyric is taken from his freestyle on the Album OG ...

Im droppin science with defiance,
because I have no alliance,
with @@@@@@ that choose not too act black when they are black...

the term "droppin science" is a reference to the process of members of the 5% Nation (or Poor Righteous Teachers) as they refer to themselves as when they "educate" the 85's (members of the 85% of oppressed peoples)...

It appears that like many Hollywood moviestars fall victim to the crazy cult of Scientology, so called "rapstars" seem to fall victim to the crazy cults of NOI and 5%...

We should not let these people revel in the knowledge that they are preaching racist ideology to us, and we dont realise it!! I for one feel like a fool for supporting them all these years unaware of what they were "really" sayn!

So educate yourselves pplz, dont let the hip hop industry just be another tool of propaganda for racists!

Ok, all the gossip aside...

Through her music and lyrics Lauren Hill has shown affiliation with groups such as the Nation of Islam and the Five Percent Nation, the latter I believe she is a member of. The following lyric is taken from "Vocab Hip Hop remix" - Fugees (Refugee Camp) Bootleg Version, 1996, Sony Music Entertainment, Columbia Records, Sony.

:Quote: Lauren Hill

Them devils wishing they could send me back to Mogadishu, pray tell me when the revolution will begin,
I turn on my TV, I check out Farrakhan on CNN,
I'm forming the cipher; fly 'peace' to the 5 Percenter,
I love PE, they kept me conscious of what I was saying,
Afrika Bambaataa, Poor Righteous Teacher,
got within myself so it made me a 5 Percenter

:end quote:

For those of you who are not aware, The 5 Percent Nation preach that the white race (or devils) are the resultant of an experiment preformed 6000 years ago by an evil scientist named Yakub. His experiment (the white devils) then proceeded to force the black race into opression. They believe that the black race is not only superior by nature, but they (the 5% Nation, and the 5% of the worlds people who are enlightned by the knowledge and truth) shall one day rise up and free the other 85% of the oppressed people of the world, from the devilish oppression of the remaining 10% (the white race). The 5% Nation is an offshoot group formed by a disgruntled member of the Nation of Islam, who was not content to pay homage to a god (Master Farad, most likely of Arabian decent) who was very light skinned. This persons name was Clarence 13X, he then changed his name to Allah...

If Lauren Hill and many of todays so called "superstars" of rap are not racist, then why do they pay homage to these racist cults? Reverse Racism is a myth, and is used as an excuse by oppressed minorities to fight back using racist doctrine of their own!

Racism is not ok, and I urge anybody who is oppossed to racism to seriously consider that some of these rappers they listen too, are infact racist or affiliate themselves with ideologies that are so, and should be condemned for their actions! If a white musician of credible stature was found to be a member of the KKK or of the Church of the Creator, or released music that affiliated with white racist doctrine.. he or she would be burnt to a cinder by critics, yet it appears for black racists and supporters of black racist ideology, there is a double standard! The following is a list of musicians you should consider your subscription too, and if in doubt do some research for yourself...

- Ice Cube (member of NOI)
- Mc Ren (member of NOI)
- Public Enemy (Chuck D is a member of NOI)
- Lauren Hill (racist lyrics and member of the 5% Nation)
- Paris (racist lyrics in affiliation to NOI and Louis Farrakhan)
- The Fugees (racist lyrics in affiliation to Louis Farrakhan)
- Lady Mecca (member of the 5% nation)
- Poor Righteous Teachers (members of the 5% Nation)
- Brand Nubian (members of the 5% Nation)
- Guru (from Gang Starr - member of the 5% Nation)
- Wu Tang Clan (members of the 5% Nation)
- Busta Rhymes (member of the 5% Nation)
- Rakim (member of the 5% Nation)
- Big Daddy Kane (member of the 5% Nation)
- Digable Planets (members of the 5% Nation)
- Mobb Deep (members of the 5% Nation)
- Nas (member of the 5% Nation)

Before anybody wishes to abuse me calling me derogatory names ... I am myself of a mixed race background of black/asian but I am firmly against racism of any person. It is time that the world stood up and said "you know what Lauren, dont let your kids die, we dont want to buy your racist records"!

:peace to all pplz of the world:

Peace,

There is no 5% Nation, We are the Nation of the Gods and Earths and we represent the 5% of the Population of this World that Knows Self. We are not Racist, we are not Pro-Black or Anti-White. We are Pro-righteous and Anti-Devilishment. We Know and Understand that the Black man Has Populated this Planet Earth and that all people are descendants of the Black Man that does not make the Black Man Superior, it makes us all Family. Yet we are rejected for teaching that we are all family. The Black Man and Woman are under attack, so we have learned this and we take refuge against our enemy. And we acknowledge that our enemy is a racist system that attacks our children. Therefore we make our children aware of who their open enemy is. And Music is not that medium. So if you do not by any of these artist records ever again. Their will always be a Nation of Gods and Earths.

I had no idea about the affiliations.
They all have a message and they are all considered conscious rappers. We need more rappers of that caliber. The day Black African Americans decide to stand up and take what we want from this world will be the day of a new beginning for humankind.

I think you are all too concerned with Lauryn Hill's personal views and beliefs. So what if she has racist views? so does the majority of the world. so what if she's not a 'rasta'? does it really make a difference? maybe think about that before you go and start stating your judgements. that's just to address some of the postings. Anyways if there are any die hard fans out there with the rap lyrics that she sings in Sister Act 2 (freestyle) it'd be wicked if you could post them. Such a good freestyler, i just wanna know what she's saying!
