I know that you must get thousands of letters a day. But children have watched your movies and the staff has watched movies more than a thousand times. It is my desire that you will have the courage, wisdom understanding, sincerity, forthright to hear me and my truths so that I may share my personal story with you in the strongest of details in person and/or by phone. In public or in the private arena. I am comfortable with either. Your celebrity status aside Whoopi, how are you, the private person doing? I am concerned as a fellow human being of your personal health,:Past, Present and future and your personal strength. This letter by way of e-mail I hope will reach you some how. This letter is not to berate you nor to otherwise discourage you in your manner of free speech. I do not know the full story of the controversy only what has been reported in the public arena. I will not speak upon what I do not personally know for myself, especially in this case. However, I do wish to express how upsetting it is that you chose to endorse anything Slim-Fast related. Perhaps, there are a few facts that your aren't ware of, so I am thrilled Whoopi that Slim-Fast Foods terminated you. Knowing your outspoken personality, I wasn't the least bit surprised when I heard the controversy nor of your termination. Please read on as you will understand why I make these comments. You, Whoopi are who you are! and Slim-Fast Foods are who they are. I feel, under my the present litigation with them that perhaps, I know this first hand, most of all. Now you know first hand what a hypocritical and cowardice company they are. They themselves are not as repectable as they make themselves out to be either. Although the cloth that they wear is of the finest material, one doesn't see the stains on the material..., the tears, the blood, the parasites, the sweat from unexplained illness. One must get really close and observe the material, otherwise; one might miss it. It is obvious in how they litigate, intimidate and otherwise treat their consumers and litigators who act in good faith by they wouldn't dare take responsibility for illness they've caused and the negligence that have occured in their company, especially related to their product Slim-Fast. How they are treating me in this litigation is proof enough of their ethnics, and morals, manipulative tactics, lack of remorse and lack of empathy for anyone. I am currently seeking justice from them, they are yet to deliver. I've known them in this manner for the past 4 years. Perhaps, the lessons you are learning and the wings you're earning perhaps will save you, your loved ones and your fan club members from the mistake I made by having any association with their product or their company in my life time. Whoopi, when I first saw the commercial with you advertising for Slim-Fast, I was deeply disturbed and upset with you. My first reaction was to attempt to contact you and ask you the following questions? With all due respect to you and your freedom of speech, Ms. Goldberg. (the present controversy), but what in heck are you thinking when you were ingesting Slim-Fast drinks? What are you thinking when you decided to do a commercial for them? What is in it for Slim-Fast Foods Company to have you as their National Spokeperson? And why would you accept their offer? Do you care? My first response was this marriage isn't going to work. Whoopi is who she is (outspoken and all) and Slim-Fast is who the are (A supposely refined respectable company with an incredibly hypocritical image). What is right for you surely isn't going to be allright with them).This is what I meant in the above statement, Perhaps,she doesn't know the product she's endorsing or the history of the company. Whoopi, have you done any research on Slim-Fast Foods Company?. Have you any idea of how many recalls this company have had since Slim-Fasts conception in 1990?. (See:FDA.gov).Please allow me to introduce myself: I am a VICTIM, SURVIVOR, AND NOW PLAINTIFF of not only their May 12, 1999 recall in which their product was contaminated with a caustic cleaning solution but their August 3, 2000 recall as well when their product was Re-contaminated after it was thermally processed causing what they allege was Gastointestinal illness. If what I was experiencing was that then one can surely die from it. There is an extensive history of recalls with the product of Slim-Fast Foods including Salmonella from '91, '92, '95, '99, '00 and 02. Have you seen the Adverse Effects Reports (1990-2001) from the Department of Health and Human Services (Food and Drug Administration from the FDA in Washington, DC. Individiuals have reported rectal bleeding, Pain in the breast, rashes, hives, grand mal seizures, accelerated heart rates, headaches, chest pains, inflamed pancreas, burning of the mouth and throat, difficulty breathing, hepitatis A, eleveated triglycerides and a list of others? Are you also aware that there is ongoing litigation December, 2001 in Los Angeles Superior Court where an enviromental activist is suing Slim-Fast for excessive lead levels in their diet drink products? This is a true David vs. Goliath story and I am winning this battle on a tight shoestring and a slingshot...a well worn one at that. I am not a trained attorney, but I am arguing my case before the Judge as though I am one. My sheer organizational ability has been my saving grace. I am the most organized individual I know and my ability to speak up for myself along with being a proud member of the big mouth tribe have most eloquently served me in this litigation. Those southern civil rights marches as a negro 9 year old, holding my mother's hand and understanding what the fight was about have served me exceedingly well in this life. Just like those I care to emulate in my childhood memories of those years, I am standing up and standing out for my rights with immense courage. I haven't much money and if I indulge you in conversation of the amount I'm fighting with I truly believe you'd immediately hire me as your financiall manager for life. I truly know the value of a dollar because I've never forgotten the days when that was all I had in my bank account. You've been there, I'm sure and know exactly what I mean. I am looking forward to the day when I defeat Slim-Fast Foods Company and possess their sword, holding it up in victory for all the world to see what courage, diligence and sheer determination can do. Whoopi, 29 physicians and nurse practioners had no explanations for the array of symptoms that I was experiencing., Nausea, weakness,choking in the throat, night sweats, constantly sleeping, chest pain, chills, Heart palpitations, abdominal swelling, abdominal cramping, labored breathing, heart pain, shortness of breath, blood residue from throat, slurring of speech, stiff neck, spinal pain, earaches, eye pain, exhaustion, loss of balance, loss of memory, Increased Glucose Level (Physician improperly getting to diagnose me with Diabetes Mellitus), Which would have been a huge mistake. I tested negative for a 24-Hour Glucose Fasting Test after eliminating only SLIM-FAST drinks from my diet. This was my first clue that it was slim-fast that was killing me. The absolute scariest part of all of this was: Had I died, no one would have suspected Slim-Fast drinks. To God, my guardian angels, my ancestors, and my own due diligence was I able to survive this medical puzzle and crisis. After consulting with the last dr. I said I was going to consult with, I came home to just give up and die, but frist I prayed a prayer to all of the above to provide me with the answer to this illness, specifically in 30 days and make it clearly visible that I wouldn't miss it. Sure enough, my prayers in tears were indeed answered in exactly 33 days. I stopped drinking Slim-Fast in June 2000. The recall was nationally announce on the date of August 3, 2000. I can never forget this day. Before this day occured, A neurologist diagnosed me with what's called cervical Disc Syndrome but couldn't explain to me how I got this. Slim-Fast contaminated product and Slim-Fast Foods have put me through hell. Whoopi, I am of the opinion that myself, you and many other consumers have been "Masterfully" used by Slim-Fast Foods Company. Had I the privilege of knowing you personally, I would have advised you against the product and not to join that band wagon. I know that I am on the right side and the right team. I am a one woman army, but I surely in need of some serious troops whose not afraid to back me up, stand next to me and acknowlegde that they are friends for life. Whoopi, I forgive you for the mistake you've made in endorsing this product and the company. Perhaps, they didn't give you all the facts, perhaps, you didn't ask. If I knew back in 1999-2000 what I now know, I would have never purchased the product myself. I am personally welcoming you to contact me personally and/or privately visit me here in New York. (South Ozone Park). Perhaps, it time for you to make a difference of another kind and "Shake Things Up for Slim-Fast" as they are shaking things up for you. Their attorney have counted me out many times in this litigation, but I'm still in... To Win BIG! A jury needs to hear my story! I'm sure there are a many others who are far worse than mine. I really do consider my present health a blessing. I am a survivor, indeed. When I first took them on, Others were discouraging me saying I couldn't possibly win. Boy, Where they wrong! I am David armed with a slingshot of courage, eager and determined to win against a giant of a company that loaded with the best and shiniest of armor and the greatest of confidence that I will be defeated. Yet I stand like a mighty oak tree who refused to move. We know the story of David and Goliath (1st Samuels- 17th Chapter) against a mighty warrior, much bigger than he, stronger by far, but my,my how Goliath underestimated little David. Ms. Goldberg, you are now in a unique position to change things. Slim-Fast Foods Company dumped you for your comedic freedom of speech, and Unilever, NV. (Owner of Slim-Fast Foods) have used the Hague Convention to limit my freedom of speech using the excuse that they can't be sued here by an american citizen because they are registered as a foriegn corporation in the Netherlands. They can poison you, even kill you, but you can only sue them in their homeland. Where are my rights as an american consumer. It would take thousands of dollarsfor me to sue them and serve them papers there. My own civil rights as an american citizen has been severely limited because of money. Thousands that perhaps, people like you take for granted on a daily basis. Sure Whoopi, you've earned and rightly so, you can spend it in any way you choose, but there are real violations out here, rights of the poor are being threaded upon on a daily basis. This is the hyprocrisy of which I speak and the company of whom product you endorsed. Whoopi, Perhaps, you can ["lose twice the weight with Slim-Fast Foods plan]", [NY Post, Page 9 dated July 15, 2004 entitled Shaking Whoopi Slim-Fast dumps Bush bash star].[Your Slim-Fast Ad entitled " I'm a Big Loser]", but you can also lose your life and a healthy well-being. The same manner in which Slim-Fast Foods Company dumped you. It would be a most splendid coup to have you come on board to endorse my campaign against them. Your appearances will be unpaid of course, but great publicity for you as well as highlighting my challenge to Slim-Fast Foods Company. I am "Challenging You, Whoopi Goldberg" to step up further, step out courageously and make a bigger difference for even bigger challenges. Endorse my efforts against your ex-employer Slim-Fast and make them "The Biggest Loser of All".
