Hugh Johnson makes his feature-film directorial debut with Chill Factor. Irish-born and educated, Johnson has had a long association with directors Ridley Scott and Tony Scott. Since 1987, he has been directing and shooting commercials for their prestigious RSA (Ridley Scott Associates) commercial company.
Additionally, Johnson served as the cinematographer on two Ridley Scott films: G.I. Jane, starring Demi Moore, and White Squall, starring Jeff Bridges. He was the second-unit director and the second-unit director of photography on 1492: Conquest of Paradise, also directed by Scott. He also shot additional photography for Tony Scott's now-classic '80s vampire film, The Hunger, starring Catherine Deneuve and Susan Sarandon.
