| by Sade Lewis I was so impressed when I saw that name 'Rick Famuyiwa' on the poster of 'The woods' at my local movie theater. I enjoyed his works with The Woods and Brown Sugar, great movies, but the movie industry (don't know if I should even call it that) in nigeria, Nollywood, needs his talent, his exposure and whatever he has to offer. I'm a writer and I hope to be able to ontribute to the betterment of our industry but the way things are right now with Nollywood, people like himself and many others in the disapora will have to help make our industry a reputable one. Great work Rick, you are very much admired by this Nigerian Chick. Sade Lewis sadelewis@yahoo.com Comment on this... |

| by Kevin Because I am a conosouir (i know I spelled that wrong) of films, I admire most African-American written and directed films. I have seen the Wood and Brown Sugar. I always watch the film with the director's commentary, but I could not listen to the tone of Rick. It was drap and difficult to withstand. However, I really admire his approach to films, but please don't ever be a radio or talk-show host. You are hard to listen to. But, you are still admired. Keep up the good work... I'll see you soon. Believe me. -Kevin 248.935.3030 Comment on this... |
