Director/Screenwriter Scott Silver made his feature film directorial debut with johns. A 1993 graduate of the American Film Institute, he received the Best Director Award for three short films he directed that year. Johns also won the Euskal Media Prize for Best Picture at the 1996 San Sebastian International Film Festival.
Silver received his undergraduate degree in Journalism from Boston University in 1986. Before moving to Hollywood, he wrote, produced and directed documentaries for the CBS affiliate in Boston.
