| by Leslie Burton Chalepah your timing could not have been more perfect! Right now, as we begin to finally break out of the old western stereotypes and heroic silent statues non-Indians so love, it is courageous and challenging to see how a new voice and new image for Indians. Ironically, all this is not new, but rather real and exciting. Keep up the work. I am currently interested in writing a movie about a man who stood outside of his culture and succeeded in the music industry with some real big names. The problem is, I don't know where to start since I have no film experience, just the desire to show the world how Indians have been key players in mainstream and never got/get credit for it! | by John J. Schelfhout Last evening I viewed A&E Biography on Robert Redford. It was the first time I ever became acquainted with Chris Eyre. On Starz the next evening I saw for the first time "Smoke Siginals". Such a fine film, so easy to watch and listen to. Just like a fine food or drink the after taste produces the a lingering flavor of authenticity and success. H.D. Thoreau: "We are all---that we perceive." My personal after thought from "Smoke Signals" We and Life becomes important at that same exacting moment we recognize our importance because of our influence on others. I sincerely thank you for sharing your influence with me this past evening. By the way I've became aware of Klammath Falls the daily use of SBGA. Best regards, John Comment on this... |

| by Chris Kiana Sr., MBA, MA I have authored a book titled Alaska Crying Baby, a 73,000 word Alaska shaman, thriller-terror, supernatural book in NYC. You can find it at www.iuniverse.com, do author search on Chris Kiana, scroll down to Browse Before You Buy when you get to book cover. Prompt the words Browse Before You Buy and you will come up with the book. This book is on time for someone to get made into a movie because it deals with shamanism in the heart of NYC. Trust me. This is a great book - at least take a few minutes to look at it. I live in Anchorage, Alaska at the moment. The movie moves quickly from one scene to another, keeping the reader wondering what is going to happen next. I wrote the book slowly over the period of a year. At least pass this on to someone. | by Teresa Yata I just saw Skins this weekend and thought it was excellent! I'd really enjoyed Smoke Signals too and am at a loss to figure out what some critics are talking about. I'm sure they must have been watching a different film. I am also from Klamath Falls and was pleased to know there is such excellent talent coming from there - I look forward to enjoying more of Chris Eyre's work. Comment on this... |
