Dean Semler
Dean Semler makes his debut as a motion picture director on FIRESTORM after a distinguished career as one of the world's most respected and acclaimed cinematographers.
Semler won both the Academy Award and the American Cinematography Award for his work on Kevin Costner's epic, Dances With Wolves. Among his many other highly praised feature credits are Waterworld, The Three Musketeers, The Last Action Hero, Super Mario Bros., The Power of One, City Slickers, Young Guns II, Impulse, K-9, Cocktail, Farewell to the King and Dead Calm, which won an Australian Film Award. Semler was also cinematographer on The Road Warrior and Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome.
Semler worked as a second unit director and cinematographer on the highly successful miniseries Lonesome Dove and the telefilm Son of the Morning Star. His next directing project is The Patriot, an action-adventure starring Steven Seagal.
