The 33-year-old filmmaker started his career as a writer/director for British television. He wrote and directed The Spiral Cage, an award-winning documentary about cartoonist Al Davidson, and Speed, a controversial drama about teenage criminals-its broadcast led to front-page headlines and calls for the imprisonment of its creators. Anderson also served as principal writer of El Cid, a successful contemporary crime series on British television.
Born and raised in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne in Northern England, Anderson received a first class film degree with honors and an MBA from Warwick University in the Midlands, England. He set up a film cooperative in his hometown, where he trained hands-on in every aspect of filmmaking, including editing, lighting and sound.
