| by Jackie I don't know if Jay ever reads this forum. However, seeing as there's no real way to contact him, and that you seem like a professional site. Who knows. I really just wanted to get this rant off my chest about Goldmember. I mean, ok I'm a cutter. So the thing with Goldmember eating his skin, picking his skin. Alright, it's funny once. Why embellish it? Yes I do know once the public realizes there's another disorder some people might have that would be considered gross, they want to jump on it and humilate who ever has it. Fine, that's human nature to hate supposedly. Usually cutters DO NOT CUT IN PUBLIC, for the obvious reasons brought up so vividly in the film. I mean, it almost seems as if Jay Roach just sat down and said "Alright, let's piss off and offend as many people as we can." Fine, but it already was done by Marilyn Manson, and he bothered to at least do it with a modicrum of intelligence about it. Like first you have Fat Bastard, ok people like to make fun of fat people I get it. Then he looses weight, and they make fun of that?! It's like you can't win! I will admit I do have respect for people who go out there, and do things despite the fact of making themselves look like a total jackass. If they do it for a good reason, as in Michael Moore. This film just seems like Jay Roach was running out of any real humor, so he was grasping at straws, and going for the really low jokes, as in bully humor. Frankly the only good thing that came of this film, aside from the Fook twins. Who were really cute. Was the line Jay said about the cut vomit opera scene being, "The Fantasia of Vomit scenes". Sounds more like something you'd hear from a hardcore horror film director. So I found it amusing. In the future though, I hope Jay refrains from these easy jokes, that only humilates others. It's not funny, and it certainly isn't anything new or original. I really don't know how you got Mike Meyers to go along with the offensive humor, I mean you know. I don't know Mike Meyers personally, but he seems like a nice guy in all his other films. Nobody wins awards from creating a film about how far can we humilate others for a laugh. People win awards for films that show compassion for the struggles of people who you have chosen to humilate Jay. So Jay what's next, a movie where you make fun of retarded kids? People who starve in 3rd world countries? Oh wait, I forgot, how about making fun of women who aren't a size 0? You haven't conqured that yet. I'm sure you might be saying "but South Park made fun of Hellen Keller, and Timmy" Yes, but in the end they befriended Timmy, and the Hellen Keller episode was how Timmy helped a disabled turkey. So it was in a POSITIVE ASPECT. Not JUST FOR A CHEAP LAUGH. I am done. That was my rant. I've nothing more to say, yup. Comment on this... |

| by Vivi Mathur I think that Jay Roach is an outstanding director enough to respond to an internet posting. I think it is very refreshing that there are films done by very skilled technicians and artist that bascially make you laugh and feel good. I feel that the Jay Roach films do that very well. In addition, i feel that, often, sequels are not well done; however, to date i have enjoyed all of his sequels. I give him a "  " !Comment on this... | ||||
