I wanted this to be directed to John personally to tell him that I had the privilege of meeting and spending time with his lovely mother, Barbara, when I attended the birthday celebration in Cottonwood, Arizona, in July. She is truly a southern charmer. I also want to let him know that I am concerned about her and Lyn Smith after the horrible hurricane that devastated that beautiful state. When we visited there in Cottonwood, she told me about his career, and was so thrilled that he was responsible for two of my favorites: Spin City and Everybody Loves Raymond, especially, Raymond. I lived near her hometown and had a brief conversation with her once. She is a knock-out, in addition to being very intelligent and talented. John is a very lucky guy.
