Boaz Yakin is best known as the writer and director of the critically- acclaimed independent films Fresh (1994) starring Sean Nelson and Samuel Jackson and A Price Above Rubies (1998) starring Renee Zellweger and Christopher Eccleston. Fresh won the Filmmaker's Trophy at the 1994 Sundance Film Festival.
He also wrote The Punisher for New World Pictures, which starred Dolph Lundgren and co-wrote The Rookie which starred Clint Eastwood and Charlie Sheen and was directed by Eastwood.
While attending New York City College and New York University he sold his first script, Cold Fire, in 1985 as a college sophomore. He relocated to Los Angeles where he began developing screenplays for United Artists, Warner Bros., and Sylvester Stallone's White Eagle Productions.
Yakin will next direct his own script, Sympathy for the Devil, as well as co-writing and directing Batman Beyond for Warner Bros.
