Yes i am English, if you are arguing about you dont/do have to be British to audition for a part, all i can say is if the director is asking for someone British/American/asian...etc then only audition for the part that will match you or is suitable! | by Ellie I have a letter from the Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire casting office which says that (and I quote) - 'Unfortunately we cannot accept any applications from outside the United Kingdom. Casting for the Order Of The Pheonix will not begin until next year so I can only suggest that you look out for more information on the official Harry Potter website - www.harrypotter.com' I received that letter around November last year, which means that casting for the Order Of The Pheonix will begin this year. I also know for a fact that you have to be a British citizen and have a pure British accent to even be considered. The Viktor Krum auditions were held in Bulgaria for this exact reason. Casting for the Goblet Of Fire has closed, but the casting for the Order Of The Pheonix has not even started, so if you hear anyone saying they are closed, they are LYING. | by Lauren hELLO my friend told me on the warner borthers site it says they wont be doing open auditions for Luna lovegood, as there is a lot of girls in britian with that discription. I will still audition though. Also let me remind you it is not only American's missing out on the brit only rule, its Australia, New Zealand and other countries as well, so dont be so rude in thinking your the only ones missing out, cause you have way better oppportunites at getting parts in movies then Australian's or nez aealander's etc do, so calm down. | by gege I have sent 2 letters lol....both different though :P i just wanted to say i no u all guys rly wanna b famous n actress's but ya gotta get ureself out there first...i have been put up 4 loadsa auditions jst bcos of a local youth theatre i go to..a guy came to watch one of our shows and picked me out!! and gave me a sorta scholarship and now he's my agent free of charge ( unless i get a job but most of them u have to pay even iff u get no jobs!!) so go on keep tryin n get ureself out there take a look at my timetable n think how busy i am n a lotta ppl out there...n how far i have got - not that far!! at all:P but im still tryin n i hope u guys do to...take a look MON: Piano, Jazz, Balet TEUS: Piano, Singing, Youth Theatre WED: Jazz, Youth theatre THURS: Rehearsel, Ballet, Tap, Jazz FRI: Tap, Ballet, Singing Sat: Youth theatre, Ballet, Singing, Piano, Jazz, Tap SUN: piano ( only in the evening..its a well relaxing day!!) As u can c i have hardly any life n i try so hard! iff any1 has any info i wud so appreciate it cos it mite make it all woth while!!  lol anyway peace guyz luv ge xComment on this... |

| by minmin i kinda think that maybe the casting director ppl are just saying that they wont accept americans so that it will cut down on girls trying to audition. IT sounds logical to me, but maybe they dont accept other applicants. I dont know. Im just trying to encourage myself. I will be super happy just to get a resoince saying that i cant audition!! Literally! IF i actually get a response i will be super excited. Anyway, one more thing- did anyone realize that the illustrator for the harry potter books lives in america> I think her name is marry grandpre', or something, and she lives in MIchigan. CHeck in the back of the Order of the Phoenix book if you don't believe me! Wouldn't JK Rowiling want the pictures to be "authenticly british" since its a british school? Yah, i see a slight flaw here. Jk aslo said somewhere that there would never be any american witches or wizards, but in the Goblet of Fire, there are witches from america from the Salem Witch Institute who are at the World CUp...hmmmm...do i see some cultural racism? or is it just my eyes.....
