Penelope Spheeris

On the heels of directing such comedy hits as Wayne's World and The Little Rascals, Penelope Spheeris wanted a chance to direct upandcoming Marion Wayans in a feature comedy and found the perfect vehicle with SENSELESS.

Spheeris' versatile directing career has covered the gamut. She made her debut with the acclaimed, highenergy documentary The Decline of Western Civilization, thought by many to be the definitive statement on the punk rock culture of Los Angeles. Spheeris then moved into dramatic features with Suburbia and The Boy Next Door, while completing "The Decline of Western Civilization Part II: The Metal Years." She next catapulted the characters created by Mike Meyers and Dana Carvey on Saturday Night Live into film heroes with the topgrossing 1992 hit Wayne's World. She has also completed work on a third music documentary, The Decline of Western Civilization Part III, which she financed herself, and has been selected for Official Competition at the 1998 Sundance Film Festival.
