I met Ulu when he attended the privately owned Morningside High School, which was located near Columbia University. He and I often talked together, and once evening we shared kisses on a Riverside Drive park bench. When I learned that he was going to visit the south, he kindly remembered my request that he find and send me some "Spanish moss", which I had read about in a novel. I still have that envelope with a dried,smashed bunch of moss. I met his Rose when I and some other friends strolled about Greenwich Village.
