| by Lou DeCibus the deer hunter while being a great film has managed to grossly cotradict itself in what the whole movie is based on.The DEER Hunter.It is not a deer at all. while Cimino speaks of the importance of reality in the production.He notes "real people and real places.And how Deniro loves to work in actual locations! Why and where the hell did he shoot a Red Stag native only to european countries>Did they shoot this seen on the way to vietnam on a layover in Scotland. It desicrates the whole premise of the film.Not to mention the great people of Ohio. How scammed they must feel after Deniro mingled with the mere mortals for months before the film in order to make his role more authentic. While Cimino allowed Deniro and Savage to almost kill themselves doing their own stunts in the helicopter rescue scene. He couldn' t get film of WHITETAIL DEER!!!!native to this country and Ohio the -BUCKEYE- state. how could this atrocity go on for this long without ramification.Unfortunately I am both a Deer Hunter and a fan of The Deer Hunter.Maybe this doesn't mean much to regular people But to me and all the deer hunters out there. A great in justice has occured in major motion picture history and I can't sit back and not do anything about it any longer.I mean why not call the movie ROULETTE and have a picture of a revolver on the cover or something. By naming the movie The Deer Hunter and putting a Red Stag on the cover of the DVD box. Its like saying "Hey watch this, stupid!" I will officially kick off my mission to have this film re-released and reedited with proper species. I will have petions signed and post this in North American whitetail magazine .If you don't think I can rally enough people together to make something happen, how about I start with the 75,000 registered hunters of Ohio. Are you lookin at me? You must be lookin at me cuz I'm the only one here.No disrespct to you Bobby but you should have done a little more research. Comment on this... |
